Making Something from (nearly) Nothing!

I've been working on a new project lately, melting a lot of plastic carrier bags to make a new fabric and then upcycling in to a range of products!  I wondered if melting foil (the kind that's usually stuck with a special glue on to textiles) would melt on, to my amazement it does and creates a lovely crackled look as it picks up the textures already created by heating the plastic. I hope you like the results!  You can see more in my etsy shop...

Inca inspired

I was just thinking how bored I am of wearing the same, dull clothes- dressing to be warm rather than making a style statement. I love South American traditional textiles- the colours and patterns are amazing. I also really like granny/fair isle knits. Combining both would result in ultimate warmth, but I hadn't thought of a way of pulling it off. Then I saw this amazing photo of a girl in Seoul wearing an amazing mix and looking cool as well as warm...
